Seeking a consultant nephrologist for a full time fixed term 12 month contract starting September 2024 or ASAP with a tertiary hospital in New Zealand's North Island. Competitive compensation with relocation support and visa sponsorship.
Position highlights
- Major tertiary referral and teaching centre
- Nephrology department comprises an inpatient ward including an acute dialysis unit, and a recently commissioned Regional Renal Centre
- Nephrology service covers all aspects of renal medicine, apart from acute kidney transplantation and has a home based treatment philosophy
- One of the largest peritoneal dialysis populations in Australasia with over 200 patients, and around 100 on home haemodialysis
- Service supports 200 transplant recipients regionally and has a network of hospital based dialysis units
- Opportunity to undertake interventional and procedural work for those with aptitude and previous experience (renal biopsy, tunnelled lines with fluoroscopy, Tenckhoff catheter insertion)
- Currently 7 renal physicians supported by a Resident Medical Officer team (5 registrars and 2 senior house officers) and an experienced and passionate team of nursing and allied health staff
- Clinical research unit which has an energetic research programme, including trials of novel agents
Requirements
- Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of Physicians (FRACP) or an equivalent qualification and be eligible for vocational registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand (MCNZ)
- Fellowship in nephrology
Remuneration
- Salary and allowances NZD 200,000 - 450,000 PA DOE
- Relocation package

- Study leave and allowance of NZD 16K pa
- 6 weeks paid vacation PA
